David Halberstam Dies in Car Crash

Writer and journalist David Halberstam, 73, has died in a car accident near San Francisco. He was a passenger in a car driven by Kevin Jones, a student at UC Berkeley when it was broadsided by another car.

A best-selling practitioner of long-form narrative non-fiction, Mr. Halberstam had just finished correcting the galleys of what will be his 21st book, “The Coldest Winter,” about battles in the Korean War in the winter of 1950 and 1951. The 700-plus page book, which he worked on for 10 years, is scheduled to be published by Hyperion in September.

With over 1.5 million units sold in 2006, Josh Turner’s latest album “Your Man” has earned him a spot on Billboard’s Top 5 Best-Selling Country Albums Of The Year.

Josh Turner joins a group of country superstars in the Top 5 which includes Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, The Dixie Chicks and Rascal Flatts.

Prior to his success, He debuted on the Grand Ole Opry on December 21, 2001 and sang a song he had written himself, “Long Black Train.” The audience raved over Josh and the track, sealing its fate as a future hit.

One thing that is scary when you think about how Sidney Crosbys career will look like, is how good it already looks! I mean Sidney Crosby has already beaten Mario Lemieux when it comes to points in their rookie year in NHL. And Mario Lemieux put up some amazing numbers that only Wayne Gretzky has been able to surpass. So now when you look at Sidney Crosby, you really have to take that into consideration when you compare Sid the Kid to Gretzky or Lemieux.

High School Musical Hits the Road

The kids of High School Musical are going on a field trip.

Stars of the mega popular Disney Channel movie have announced plans to hit the road for a 40-city concert tour, kicking off Nov. 30 in San Diego.

Monique Coleman, who at least through the end of the day is a contestant on Dancing With the Stars, Lucas Grabel, Corbin Bleu, Ashley Tisdale, Vanessa Hudgens and Drew Seeley are all on board to hit the road this winter. Though much to the chagrin of 12-year-olds the nation over, Zac Efron will not be participating.
